"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds."

Are engagement photos necessary?

While by no means a requirement, there are certainly benefits to scheduling an engagement session (preferably with the photographer who will be shooting your wedding). Here are a few...

  1. It will help you and your fiancé become more comfortable being natural in front of the camera. After all, most couples have never done a professional photo session together.
  2. It will help you and your photographer build a more personal relationship and allow you to learn their shooting style. You will spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day. While a consultation is good, an engagement session is even better for getting to know each other.
  3. It is an opportunity for your photographer to get to know your personalities and see how you and your fiancé interact. This will allow for a more personal experience and more memorable photos on your wedding day.
  4. You will have some great photos to look at, use on save-the-date cards or programs, or even as decorations at your reception!
